Lady Gaga's strong acceptance speech
After picking the Best Pop Vocal Album award for
Mayhem, Lady Gaga came on stage and said, "I just want to say, for women in music, that I know sometimes when you're in the studio with a bunch of guys, it can be hard. So urge you to always listen to yourself and always fight for your ideas. Fight for your songs. Fight for yourself as a producer. Make sure that you're heard, loudly. Thank you so much for supporting me in my craft, all of you. I believe in discipline, hardwork and craftsmanship. And that's what Mayhem is."
Internet reacts to her powerful words
Her fans reiterated her words with posts on X (formerly Twitter). One user wrote, "That’s leadership, not just acceptance speech energy, fight for your voice and don’t give it up." Another one said, "Fight for your ideas, your sound, and your seat at the table. Well said." A netizen agreed, "This is powerful. Women don’t just belong in the room — they deserve to lead it." A second one reacted, "I watched the movie she made, about her rise to stardom. She was resilient and focused. Kudos to her, she’s clearly reaping the fruits of her labour." A post read, "Her using that moment to talk directly to women instead of just thanking the academy is why gaga will always be that artist. Trophies fade but speeches like this stick with you." One more read, "Powerful and needed. She said what so many women live through."
