actress Celina Jaitly's brother, Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly (Retd.), has been detained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since September 2024. On November 23, the actress penned a long note on social media, remembering her brother. The actress recalled her final call to him and expressed that she is waiting to hear his voice again. In the lengthy note, Celina admitted that since her brother's detention, her life has been a 'countdown of fear, hope and unbearable silence'.

Taking to her official Instagram account, Celina shared a photo with her brother, Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly (Retd.). The actress revealed that it's been 444 days without her brother, who's detained in the UAE. "It’s been 1 year, 2 months, 17 days, 443 days in total, 10,632 hours, 637,920 minutes…since my brother, Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly,(Retd) was taken. Since he was 1st abducted, held incommunicado for eight long months, then kept in detention somewhere in the Middle East, my life has been a countdown of fear, hope & unbearable silence," she wrote.

The actress further expressed, "I am waiting to hear his voice, I am waiting to see his face, I dread what they have done to him.I dread it because only I know who he was when he was whole, & I dread it because I know what he managed to communicate in that one final call… A call made to the only number he could still remember. A call carrying more pain than words. A call carrying more truth than the world is ready to face."
Celina Jaitly refuses to give up
Towards the end of her lengthy note, Celina stated that she will not give up until her brother returns back to the Indian soil. "BHAI I HAVE LOST EVERYTHING FINDING YOU I will NOT stop, I will NOT give up till he is back to the soil of his Bharat, the country he gave up all for!!," she mentioned.For those unaware, Delhi High Court had recently issued a notice to the Central Government and asked to submit a status report on Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly's (Retd.) current situation.
