What is the story about?
BTS
member V is back on screen, but this time, not as an idol or a fashion icon, but as actor Kim Taehyung. Nearly a decade after his acting debut with Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016), V is back to doing what ARMYs want to see more of. And he just proved that he's cut out for a teen drama with hardcore themes of love, desire, ambition, and more. Giving fans a perfect dose of a K-drama, V features in an ad film titled That Night, Our Decaffeinated, alongside actress Park Ji-Min. It comes soon after V turned on his sassy side during BTS's ARIRANG World Tour show at Goyang on April 9. Now, with the new ad, he's turning the tables to a different side of this talent.
Actor V is back!
After teasing fans for days, the coffee brand finally dropped the ad on April 10. And if the 4-minute movie is anything to go by, V can comfortably turn to acting like many of his contemporary idols, and give each one a run for their money, too.About the short movie
The ad tells the story of two adults who bump into each other at a coffee stall, ordering the same beverage. Their familiarity through voices, things they carry, and the "smell" takes them back to their high school days when they were childhood crushes. The movie explores their school days and how they cared for each other through little gestures. But then life happens, and they get busy in their own dreams, despite missing each other. They finally meet and possibly reconnect at the coffee shop, marking a second phase in their bond.V's screen presence
The highlight of the ad is how the focus is kept on V's screen presence, putting his soft eyes, innocent face, and acting skills at the forefront. In Hwarang, he played the youngest one in the main group of actors, and barely had many scenes. He eventually dies in the historic drama. But the new ad makes him the romantic hero of his own story, leaving ARMYs demanding a full-fledged K-drama where he plays the lead role.Watch the short movie starring V aka Kim Taehyung, and Park Ji-Min here:
