Bangla marked Akshay Kumar's reunion with Priyadarshan after more than a decade. The hit director-actor once again joined forces for a horror comedy. After working on movies like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Hera Pheri, and more, the duo reunited for Bhooth Bangla, which was released in theatres today (April 17). The film's paid previews began at 9 pm on April 16. Also featuring Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi, the movie collected Rs 3.5 crore in paid previews. The Priyadarshan directorial,
Bhooth Bangla, was initially supposed to release on April 10. However, the makers pushed its theatrical release by a week amid Dhurandhar 2's blockbuster success. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film collected
Rs 12.25 crore on day one, bringing its total collections to
Rs 15.75 crore.
Written by Rohan Shankar, Priyadarshan and Abilash Nair, the movie will stream on Netflix after its cinematic run ends. Having said that, the makers of Akshay's horror comedy haven't officially announced the OTT release date yet. A film generally lands on streaming after 45 to 60 days of its theatrical run ends.

Bhooth Bangla, while Pritam has worked on its music. M. S. Aiyappan Nair is the film's editor. This project has been collectively produced by Akshay's Cape of Good Films and Ektaa Kapoor, Shobhaa Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures.

Manu Menon reflected on working with Akshay Kumar and late Asrani. He had his main scenes with them. "There were three surreal moments for me. The first scene I shot with Asrani sir and my first solo shot with Akshay sir made this dream a reality," he said.
