a massive first Saturday (May 23), Drishyam 3 starring Mohanlal has zoomed past the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide. It has achieved this feat in 58 hours. Jeethu Joseph, the writer and director of the long-running franchise, took to social media to thank fans for being with the film for the past 13 years. Amidst the growing success of the Malayalam film, the filmmaker wrote a note of gratitude to the audiences that had been with the franchise since the start. The first Drishyam film was released in 2013 and has had several language remakes.

Drishyam team for 13 years. He stated, "Your love, support, and belief in this story continue to humble us every day." While noting that Drishyam 3 was still running in theatres, Jeethu Joseph shared a new poster celebrating the franchise's latest milestone, grossing Rs 100 crore in 58 hours.

Drishyam 3 became the second-fastest Malayalam film to reach Rs 100 crores in gross collection globally. The first was Mohanlal's
L2: Empuraan, which was able to do so in just two days. Early estimates show that the film grossed around Rs 112 crore worldwide in just three days. Nearly Rs 65 crore of this number comes from overseas territories alone. The second
Drishyam film had to skip a theatrical release as it was made and premiered during the pandemic on February 19, 2021.

Besides Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil also reprised their roles as members of the George clan. Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, the third film focuses on Georgekutty and his family as they prepare for Anju's wedding (Ansiba Hassan). The former cable TV operator also has additional eyes on him after a film on his memoirs is released.
The ensemble cast also includes Siddique, Murali Gopy, Biju Menon, Asha Sharath, Veena Nandakumar, and Santhi Mayadevi.
