After
the end of Stranger Things on December 31, 2025, actor Charlie Heaton, who played Jonathan Byers on the show, has been showing his range with other characters. Earlier this year, he was part of the cast of Industry Season 4, playing a journalist named Jim Dycker. Now, the first look of his character in the unnamed Peaky Blinders sequel has been dropped. The actor is part of the Shelby family, as he plays Charles Shelby, Tommy Shelby's (Cillian Murphy) other son. The upcoming sequel series will focus on the next generation of Shelbys in Birmingham.
Charlie Heaton will play Charles Shelby in Peaky Blinders sequel
On social media, Netflix dropped the first look of Heaton as the grown-up Charles Shelby, Tommy's legitimate heir. However, the series will explore how the Shelby heir has severed ties with his half-brother Duke Shelby, played by
Jamie Bell, and his father's Peaky Blinders gang.
The series will pick up after the March 2026 release of the first Peaky Blinders film,
The Immortal Man, in which Tommy Shelby eventually perished. In the Netflix film, the part of Duke was played by Barry Keoghan. He won't be reprising his role as Duke, as
Half Man star Bell will take over the role for the six-part series. Written and created by Steven Knight, the official synopsis released by Netflix sheds some light on Tommy's son Charles. It reveals that Charles spent much of World War II behind enemy lines and craves normalcy. He hasn't seen Duke in years and wants nothing to do with the Peaky Blinders. However, the question remains, "But can you ever escape your own blood?"
