Starting November 1, Aadhaar cardholders across India will see some big changes in how they can manage their personal details. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has rolled out a new
system that allows individuals to update key information- like their name, address, date of birth, or mobile number, entirely online. This means the days of standing in long queues at Aadhaar Enrollment centres may soon be behind us. The move aims to make Aadhaar services faster, more accessible, and more secure for millions of users across the country.Automatic Verification Through Linked DatabasesOne of the most notable updates is automatic verification. Now, when you make an Aadhaar update request, your details will be cross-checked against official government databases such as PAN, passport, driving licence, ration card, and birth certificate records. This streamlined process is expected to reduce manual verification, minimise data errors, and strengthen overall data security. Users can still choose to update details offline at enrollment centers, though the fee structure has been revised.Aadhaar–PAN Linking Deadline ExtendedThe government has made it mandatory to link Aadhaar with PAN by December 31, 2025. Missing this deadline could lead to your PAN becoming inactive from January 1, 2026.For new PAN applicants, Aadhaar authentication is now compulsory. Additionally, the KYC (Know Your Customer) process for banks and financial services has been simplified. Institutions can now verify users through Aadhaar OTP, video KYC, or in-person verification, ensuring a quicker and paperless experience.ALSO READ: Aadhaar Card WhatsApp Download: Follow This Simple Guide To Download Aadhaar Card EasilyRevised Aadhaar Fee StructureHere’s a breakdown of the new Aadhaar service charges:Demographic updates (name, address, DOB, mobile, email): Rs 75Biometric updates (fingerprint, iris, photo): Rs 125Children’s biometric updates (ages 5–7 and 15–17): FreeDocument update: Rs 75 at centres, free online until June 14Aadhaar print: Rs 40Home enrollment service: Rs 700 for the first member, Rs 350 per additional person at the same addressNote- The information in this article is for informational purposes only.
