Fans of Kapil Sharma’s comedy were eagerly awaiting the re-release ofKis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 this Friday, January 9, hoping to catch the hilarious film on the big screen after its initial run. The movie, a laugh-packed comic caper, originally released on December 12, 2025, and quickly became a talking point among audiences for its unique storyline and Kapil’s signature comic timing. The film, however, faced tough competition from other major releases like Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire and Ash, which limited its cinema presence. In response, the producers had planned a second run, promising fans a chance to enjoy the film in over 500 screens nationwide. Expectations were high as audiences who missed it earlier looked forward to experiencing the movie in theaters.
But in an unexpected turn of events, the re-release has been cancelled, leaving fans disappointed. The decision was made by the studio partner at the last minute.
Kapil Sharma's Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2 re-release cancelled at last minute
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Star Studio18, the film’s studio partner and distributor, had initially committed to releasing the movie across 500 screens. However, due to logistical constraints, only about 200–250 screens could be secured, with most showtimes at inconvenient hours. Venus, the production house behind the film, found this arrangement unsatisfactory and decided to cancel the re-release entirely on the evening of Thursday, January 8, just a day before it was scheduled to hit theaters. The source shared, “Star Studio18, the studio partner and distributor of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, had assured of releasing the film in 500 screens in its second run. But they were able to secure only around 200-250 screens. Also, most of the shows were at odd times. Venus, the producers of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, were not satisfied with such a release. As a result, a decision was taken on the evening of Thursday, January 8, to not re-release the film at all.”
Reason behind cancellation of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2's re-release
The source continued, “
Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 originally released on December 12 and was withdrawn from cinemas as films like Dhurandhar, Avatar: Fire And Ash etc. dominated the showcasing. Venus felt that their film was not getting sufficient showcasing and decided to re-release it at a better time. But even when the holdover releases have slowed down, they are not getting the screens that they demanded. This is the reason that such a drastic step was taken.”An industry expert commented, “It now remains to be seen if Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 would re-release now at a later date. The film has genuinely been loved and is one of the rare comedies of recent times that actually raised lots of laughs in cinemas. Here’s hoping such a well-made film gets the due it rightfully deserves.”
