new untold story from Hawkins, Indiana, is set to arrive soon on Netflix. Stranger Things: Tales From '85, developed by Eric Robles and backed by Stranger Things co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer, is set to premiere on April 23. The main Hawkins gang of Mike Wheeler, Will Byers, Dustin Henderson, Lucas Sinclair, Eleven, and Max Mayfield are back, along with fan favourite characters such as Steve Harrington and Jim Hopper. The animated series, which takes place during the second and third seasons of the live-action show, hints that something from the Upside Down must have survived and is now unleashed in Hawkins.

On social media, Netflix dropped the first teaser of the animated show, which features the Hawkins gang out in the snow. The teaser trailer features strange, new monsters roaming around Hawkins.

Set during the winter break of 1985, as the gate to the Upside Down has closed, the friends plan snowy adventures of fun and frolic. Instead, underneath the ice, something creepy lurks. Has it arrived from the Upside Down or the Hawkins Lab? Or are its origins something else entirely? Mike, Will, Eleven, and their friends must race to solve this mystery to save Hawkins one more time. More importantly, the gang rallies to protect Eleven from the government’s omnipresent eyes. Brett Gipson voices police chief and Eleven's adoptive father, Hopper, while Hazbin Hotel’s Jeremy Jordan voices Steve Harrington. Marty Supreme’s Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips are also entering the Stranger Things universe in unknown roles. While the spinoff series features many original characters from the Netflix show, a new character named Nikki Baxter, who is "taller and bigger" than the core group, joins the Hawkins gang in their adventures.
