Now even a decade after its release, the film continues to be in discussion as reports of the film re-releasing in theatres is doing the rounds on social media. Ajith's Mankatha Re-Release: Sun Pictures Tease Fans With New Post
In 2024, the film was re-released in theatres on Ajith Kumar's 53rd birthday, along with a few of his other hit films from his career, which include the 2007 hit Billa (directed by Vishnuvardhan) and the 2001 action-drama Dheena (directed by AR Murugadoss). However, Mankatha faced issues ahead of its re-release and eventually hit theatres outside Tamil Nadu and India. Now, Sun Pictures, the banner behind the Ajith Kumar headliner Mankatha, has teased a rerelease of the film through a new promo video indicating that the film.
As per reports, the film is expected to finally hit theatres in the state and the rest of the country soon. Venkat Prabhu dropped hints on X post that said, "The Kingmaker" which has sparking excitement among fans. Several users believe the post is linked to Mankatha which is reported to have a re-release in January. However, no official confirmation about it has been made yet.
