BTS
is back in Seoul from their close to a week-long trip to Portugal (possibly Lisbon). Although the airport arrival of the septet, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, gave fans and reporters the most striking visuals, the K-pop icons' bowing their heads in gratitude to those who had assembled to send them love was a precious moment for the ARMYs. However, certain incidents that occurred at Incheon Airport left their massive fandom furious and concerned. BTS is nearing its big comeback with their fifth album ARIRANG, a free concert BTS The Comeback Live: Arirang at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul and a world tour. However, some recent security threats have turned dampeners amid the excitement.
BTS returns to Seoul from Portugal
It so happened that on February 9, when the seven BTS members walked out of the gates of the airport, towards the exit, they were welcomed by a huge crowd of fans who had assembled to cheer for them, along with a slew of photographers and reporters, who were also present to capture the rare moment of OT7 at the airport together. However, a fan allegedly barged into the line reserved for the journalists posing as one. When it was later discovered that she had crossed the line since she wanted to meet Jimin, ARMYs across social media expressed anger.
Jimin's fan stood as a reporter
A video has now gone viral, where a woman's audio talks about trespassing the reporters' side. Even if her intentions weren't bad, the fact that anyone could do that grabbed attention.According to Dispatch, a foreign woman, posing as a reporter, tried to approach Jimin. When the police noticed the incident, they called for help and apprehended the woman. Jimin's well-wishers called it a disregard to Jimin's personal space. The incident also delayed the members' exit from the airport.
V's extra security cover
BTS' airport exit also saw how V aka Kim Taheyung was being escorted by two managers to his car, who stayed close and grabbed V tightly to avoid any uncalled incident. In one clip, we can even see a bodyguard pushing a fan who happened to get too close to V.V was under special security following a recent threat he received in Portugal. Even though there's no official confirmation about the threat, strong reports claimed a direct attack or danger to V. The concerns mostly surfaced via fan posts and online accounts, leaving fans worried.
Anti-fan's threat to V
It came after several online posts and fan-circulated audio/video claimed that a person described as a "JiKook shipper anti-fan" was camping outside the Lisbon hotel where BTS members were staying and allegedly threatened to harm V's physical safety. Some even alleged violent rhetoric, including claims about "acid attack threats." But considering these come from fan spaces and weren't independently verified by any major news outlet, the claim remained a speculation. Ever since, ARMYs have been posting hashtags like 'HYBE PROTECT TAEHYUNG' with widespread calls to provide an official protection cover and monitoring of the situation. Many even expressed escalating fear and urgency through social media, urging BTS agency HYBE and its subsidiary BigHit to step up V's safety.
