Ramayana
has been in headlines since the time the film was officially announced. The conversations have increased multifold in the recent months, especially after the makers released the first glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama on Hanuman Jayanti earlier this month. While reactions have ranged from awe to scrutiny, producer Namit Malhotra has now addressed the conversation, expressing gratitude and humility. While debates around visual effects and authenticity swirl online, the team behind Ramayana: Part 1 is ready to face every question and challenge.
Namit Malhotra is taking note of all the feedback for Ramayana
In a candid note shared on X, Namit Malhotra described the overwhelming response to the film’s early visuals as both “inspiring” and “humbling.” He acknowledged the emotional connection millions hold with the Ramayana, calling it “a story etched in the souls of billions.” The producer stressed that the feedback - (which has been both positive and critical on the internet) - is being taken seriously, assuring audiences that the team is “listening closely” and working tirelessly to deliver a cinematic experience that does justice to the revered epic.
Malhotra also shed light on the massive collaborative effort behind the project, revealing that thousands of artists and technicians are passionately contributing to bring the story to life. He stated that the responsibility of portraying such a culturally significant narrative is not lost on the team and every department is doing its best. “This is our Ramayana. It belongs to us all,” he wrote, claiming that they are doing everything to bring the epic to life on big screens this Diwali.Read his full statement here:
No AI used in Ramayana - clarifies actor
The conversation around the teaser leaned towards being more critical after some viewers speculated that Artificial Intelligence (AI) had been used in crowd scenes featuring Ranbir Kapoor. Observers pointed out what they believed were inconsistencies, such as a perceived change in a junior artiste’s turban colour during a panning shot. However, these claims were quickly addressed by Saket Patel, an actor who was present during the shoot. In an exclusive interview with
Zoom, Patel dismissed the AI rumours, clarifying that the scene was filmed entirely with real people and practical setups. He explained that the perceived visual discrepancy was likely due to lighting or camera movement rather than any digital manipulation.
Patel also revealed an interesting detail about Ranbir Kapoor’s dedication. According to him, the actor chose not to use a body double for the scene, despite the scale and complexity involved. This decision, Patel noted, reflects Kapoor’s commitment to his role and the seriousness with which he is approaching the character of Lord Rama. “How can you expect a film that is so big, made on a huge scale and jispe sabki hopes hai go wrong?” he remarked, expressing confidence in the project.Directed by Nitesh Tiwari,
Ramayana: Part 1 is slated for a grand release during Diwali this year. The film also stars Yash, Sai Pallavi, Ravie Dubey and Sunny Deol.
