star Ranveer Singh emerged as the "babbar sher" of the box office after the historic success of Dhurandhar 2 aka Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The actor, who is basking in the glory of his latest blockbuster, will soon begin his next project. For those unversed, he will be seen in zombie film Pralay opposite Kalyani Priyadarshan. The movie, being touted as a unique thriller, has been generating major buzz. And now, a fresh update is here! Helmed by Jai Mehta, the film is set to go on the floors in August this year. Despite rumours of a shocking fallout, the schedule is moving as planned.
Ranveer Singh To Begin Pralay Shoot In August 2026
According to a report by
Variety India, reports about Ranveer walking out of
Pralay due to creative differences are "completely baseless."A source told the portal, "Ranveer and Jai have been in continuous discussions and have firmly locked the script. The project has already moved into pre-production, with the entire team actively gearing up to create a never-before-witnessed gigantic spectacle out of Indian cinema. As it stands,
Pralay is on track to go on floors by August 2026."

Pralay is being planned as a big-budget action thriller with heavy VFX. Set in a dark post-apocalyptic world, it is expected to bring a never-seen-before zombie story. While Bollywood has tried its hand at the genre, this one aims to be completely different. Reportedly, Jai Mehta has been developing the project since last year and wants to make it on a grand scale. The reported budget of the movie is a whopping Rs 300 crore. The script has been written by Mehta and Vishal Kapoor of
Chhorii and
Lootere fame. It is being produced by Hansal Mehta’s True Story Films, Ranveer’s Maa Kasam Films, and Applause Entertainment.
Ranveer is said to be very excited about the project as it explores a completely new space for him. As per reports, he will sport a brand-new look in the film.
