Ranveer Singh'sDhurandhar 2 has become a phenomenon ever since it stormed into theatres on March 19. The spy-thriller helmed by Aditya Dhar is a masterpiece that has a stellar star cast including - Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, Bimal Oberoi and others. The film has become such a hit that each of the cast member is enjoying a boost in their popularity and earning praise now. Bimal Oberoi says Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera and his character can lead spin offs
In a recent interview with ETimes, Bimal he spoke about the layered characters created by Aditya Dhar across the two films and why the universe could easily branch out into spin-offs and standalone stories.Talking about the potential for spin-offs, Oberoi said it’s not just Shirani who deserves a deeper dive. He pointed to several other characters who could carry their own stories forward. He said, "
Not only Shirani. Look at Rakesh Bedi Ji's character. Look at that handsome boy Danish (Pandor); jo jail main hain. Unke character pe bohot kuch ho sakta hai." From Rakesh Bedi’s role to Danish Pandor’s character, who is shown in prison, he felt there’s a lot that can be explored around them.
He also mentioned Mustafa Ahmed’s Rizwan as another strong candidate for a spin-off, adding that almost every character in the film has the depth to lead their own narrative. Even Akshaye Khanna’s Rehman Dakait, he said, has enough intrigue to warrant a backstory.Bimal further spoke about Gaurav Gera’s character, saying it would be interesting to explore who he was and how he ended up where he did. According to him, each character in the Dhurandhar universe has been written with such detail that expanding their stories wouldn’t feel forced. Shirani, too, could be explored in greater depth, and he believes it would make for a compelling watch.
He added that the decision ultimately lies with the makers, but praised Aditya Dhar’s creative vision, saying, "Looking at Aditya Dhar, the kind of talented person he is, he can do whatever he wants."
