Panday and Lakshya's Chand Mera Dil was officially announced in November 2024. At that time, the makers revealed that the romantic drama would hit the big screen in 2025. However, it couldn't make it to cinemas last year. On January 31, Chand Mera Dil's new release date was announced. Ananya and Lakshya's movie will be theatrically released on May 8, 2026. For those unaware, this is director Vivek's third directorial venture. He made his debut with Sanya Malhotra and Abhimayu Dassani's Meenakshi Sundareshwar, followed by R Madhavan's Aap Jaisa Koi. And now, his third project, Chand Mera Dil, is ready to release in cinemas during Summer 2026.

Chand Mera Dil locks new release date

Ananya and Lakshya have collaborated for the first time on a film. When the movie was announced in 2024, it was booked for 2025 release. Later, it was reported that the romantic drama will arrive in theatres on April 10 this year. Now, it has been confirmed that Chand Mera Dil will hit the 70mm screen on May 8.

Apart from Chand Mera Dil, there are two other Bollywood movies releasing in the same month. Akshay Kumar's reunion project with Priyadarshnan, Bhooth Bangla, is scheduled for May 15 release. Akshay will be seen in the horror comedy with Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, and others.Talking about another project, Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia's Vvan: Force of the Forest is all set for May 15 release. However, media reports suggest that it has been delayed to avoid clash with Bhooth Bangla.

Lakshya's work front

On the work front, Lakshya was last seen in The Ba***ds of Bollywood. He played the lead role in Aryan Khan's directorial debut series, which is streaming on Netflix. Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and several other Bollywood stars made special appearances in the show. He made his Bollywood debut with Kill, co-starring Raghav Juyal. He was also his co-star in The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Lakshya's upcoming project is Dostana 2, where he will be seen with Vikrant Massey.

Ananya Panday's work front

Ananya, on the other hand, was last seen in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri with Kartik Aaryan. The romantic drama, which had a Christmas 2025 release, failed to work at the box office. The actress essayed the character of Rumi while Kartik was seen as Ray. Helmed by Sameer Vidwans, the film received mixed reviews upon its theatrical release.
