About Karuppu
Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, is a fantasy action-drama featuring Suriya in the role of a lawyer who channels the power of the guardian deity Karuppusamy to confront a corrupt legal system. The film centers on a wronged family whose quest for justice prompts a god to take human form and stand up to a powerful and unscrupulous lawyer. The story combines a rural commercial narrative with high-stakes courtroom drama to create both intensity and mass appeal.
In the film, Trisha played the role of lawyer Preethi, RJ Balaji portrayed Advocate Baby Kannan (BK). The film highlights how the legal system often fails to protect the poor and highlights the fight against oppression. It also shows a defender taking charge against a powerful opponent, exploring the contrast between conventional legal methods and supernatural retribution. Meanwhile,
Karuppu was delayed by one day, from its planned 9:00 AM release on May 14, 2026, to May 15, 2026, due to last-minute financial hurdles and unpaid dues, as per reports.
