Dhurandhar Fame Saumya Tandon's Co-Star Aasif Sheikh Lauds Aditya Dhar Film, Calls It 'Major Breakthrough For TV Actors'

the spy thriller was released on December 5, 2025 and within three weeks of its release, it has earned over Rs 500 crore. The film also features Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Aditya, and Arjun Rampal. Amid all the buzz, Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain actor Aasif Sheikh has lauded the whole cast of the film that includes his on-screen wife in the TV show, Saumya Tandon.

Sheikh said that the success of Dhurandhar has opened several doors for TV actors and it’s a very positive turn. Talking to Siddharth Kannan, Aasif said, "Ek bahut bada breakthrough hua hai yeh Dhurandhar jo hit hui hai. Aap dekhiye usmein kitne TV actors hain… Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera and Saumya Tandon, ye sab TV actors hain. Sab alag kirdar hai… Yeh TV actors ke liye achi opening hai… Mera manna hai ke sabne successfully acha kaam kiya hai. Phele ek barrier tha ke yeh TV actor hai, OTT mein toh aaj tak log bolte hain ke aap TV actor hain. (This is a huge breakthrough, this show Dhurandhar has been a hit. Look at how many TV actors are in it… Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera, and Saumya Tandon are all TV actors. They all have different roles… This is a great opportunity for TV actors… I believe everyone has done a great job. Earlier there was a barrier, people would say, 'He's a TV actor,' and even on OTT platforms, people still say, 'You're a TV actor.')" Further, he added, "Aur main aapse dawe ke saath keh sakta hun ke we are much more efficient, much more committed, much more serious and sincere.
