The 50 will end with a grand finale after 50 days. The contestants have entered the Mahal where tasks will test their friendships and strengths. The first episode of the reality show had its good moments. For fans of Bigg Boss, this one fills the void that it left until the new season gets greenlit. Most of the contestants are BB graduates and know reality shows better than some. Those who avoided
Bigg Boss will now show their personalities in a game show that has a different concept.
The 50 started on a dramatic note. Here are seven things about the series that impress and disappoint.
What Impresses
Spicy, lively and busy,
The 50 is the chaos every reality show fan needs after a tiring day. The participants know what they have to offer. Competitive spirit in the contestants is worth appreciating. Instead of concealing their feelings and opinions, Nikki and Rajat use no filter to express themselves. Vanshaj calling Karan ‘moti buddhi’ set the tone for the show’s future. The episode is fast-paced, and there are no dull moments. The first task of the season looked simple but was thrilling and exciting due to time constraints and competitive energy. Beyond the task, the contestants were seen bonding over personal stories. This gave a deeper understanding of who they are.
What Disappoints
If
Bigg Boss was chaotic,
The 50 multiplies it by 2x. With 50 contestants under a roof, the reality show will try to make them fight and use the same tropes to gain attention on social media. Some participants are following a similar
Bigg Boss pattern for visibility. At this stage, the series seems a rehash of the Salman Khan-hosted show.
The 50 lacks newness, at least in the first episode. Seeing similar faces in every reality contest could work against the idea of bringing something fresh. The audience is accustomed to seeing them in almost every show. A few participants are appearing as complete misfits. Such as Urvashi Dholakia. Hoping the coming episodes change this. The elimination process in the first episode was unfair. If this is how it is going to be, social media outrages would become the norm.
The 50 will air daily on JioHotstar and Colors channel. Did you enjoy the first episode? Do let us know.
