On Instagram, Mouni and Suraj announced that they are indeed going their separate ways and ended their relationship after four years of marriage. The former couple stated that they have parted ways and are taking the necessary time to address matters privately and amicably. They pointed out that attempts were made to sensationalise their private lives with false stories and lies, which are far away from the truth.
They also added that they are focused on navigating this new phase thoughtfully and privately and will cherish their friendship. Mouni and Suraj ended their note asking for understanding and respect for their privacy.
When Suraj Nambiar spoke about being married to a celebrity
In an old interview with
ETimes, Suraj was asked about how he felt being married to a celebrity and the media attention that comes along with it. To this, the businessman shared that the actress wasn't surrounded by paps and fans when they met in Dubai. However, when he initially visited Mumbai, Suraj saw fans asking the actress for selfies and paparazzi waiting to click her. He eventually realised that being married to the
Naagin actress would mean that he would have to live in the public eye. "It's part of the deal, and with time, I am getting used to it," he said.
In the same interaction, Suraj had revealed he met the actress for the first time at a New Year party in 2018 in Dubai. At that time, the businessman wasn't aware Mouni was an actress, as he had lived out of India for 12 years. The duo only had a brief interaction during their first meeting. Later, the
Brahmastra actress started visiting Dubai frequently and kept meeting him.
