Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were blessed with their first child, daughter Raha Kapoor, in 2022. Since then, they have been doting parents to their baby girl. In a recent interview, Ranbir reflected on parenting styles, his relationship with his late father Rishi Kapoor, and more. Ranbir, who was last seen in Animal, stated that his bond with father had a 'little bit of distance'.
Ranbir Kapoor on relationship with daughter Raha
In a video that was shared on Ranbir Kapoor Kingdom's YouTube channel, Ranbir reflected on how his parenting approach differs from his late father Rishi. "My father’s relationship with me had a little bit of distance; it was not like a friendship, because that’s how that generation was; there was a glass wall," he said.
And that's the primary reason Ranbir doesn't want to share a distant relationship with his baby girl. "But now, differently with my child, I want to break that glass wall. I want to be a friend to her, give her the wings to fly in whichever direction she wants," he added.
Ranbir on Kapoor family legacy
In the same conversation, the actor opened up about living upto the Kapoor legacy and creating his own path. Ranbir mentioned that once one knows that they've come from a family of achievers, the next generation doesn't succeed on 'past laurels'. Ranbir believes that one has to take an 'individualistic approach', thought process and bring something new to the table.
That said, the actor feels if a person does the same 'copy-paste' of what their forefathers have done, there would be a saturation point. "So I think it’s the intention—you have to really carry a feeling, a feeling of legacy and emotion forward. If you have that in the true sense, then nothing can stop you."
