This year, she hasn’t walked the red carpet yet. Amid rumours of Aishwarya skipping the Cannes Film Festival 2026, there is a new development. Fans who were disappointed with the former Miss World’s absence, can anticipate her arrival in the French Riviera soon. The 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival started on May 12 and will conclude on May 23.

As per MoneyControl’s report, Aishwarya will be attending the Cannes Film Festival 2026’s closing ceremony. Due to undisclosed reasons, she couldn’t travel to France for the prestigious event.

Cannes, for many Indians, is synonymous with Aishwarya. In 2002, the actress made her debut during the premiere of Devdas with Shah Rukh Khan and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Her famous yellow saree look remains a favourite, even among Bollywood insiders, including Alia Bhatt.

Since then, Aishwarya walked the red carpet regularly and later, when she associated with a beauty brand, she has been attending Cannes as the company’s ambassador. Besides cinema, she has taken fashion to the next level with some standout looks that broke the internet. One was her Cinderella blue Michael Cinco gown in 2017, followed by the memorable butterfly-inspired gown in 2018.

This year too, Aaradhya is expected to attend the festival with Aishwarya while Abhishek remains busy with the shoot of King co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone among many others. Aishwarya isn’t just the most popular face at Cannes. In 2003, she also made history by becoming the first Indian actress to serve as a jury member.

Marathi stars, Ashok Saraf, Nivedita Saraf, Prajakta Mali, and Ankita Prabhu Walawalkar also walked the red carpet. Karan Johar is expected to be there as well.
