Thalapathy Vijay’s last film, Jana Nayagan, has been in the news for various reasons. On April 9, Jana Nayagan’s HD print was leaked online before it could be certified by the CBFC. After that, the cops arrested nine people in the leak case. Amidst all, the police have arrested a CCTV staff member working at a vote-counting centre recently with the help of Facebook for allegedly downloading Jana Nayagan illegally. It has to be noted that T Yuvraj, who is working as a CCTV technical head at Anna University on a contract basis, was recruited through the Election Commission ahead of the Tamil Nadu Elections 2026. He was working at a vote-counting centre. During his working hours, he allegedly downloaded Jana Nayagan and watched the film illegally on his laptop.
How Did Facebook Help Police To Catch CCTV Staffer?
According to The Hindu report, the CCTV staff member allegedly took a picture of himself watching Jana Nayagan on his laptop and posted it on his Facebook handle at around 11 pm on April 23. The photo reportedly shows multiple CCTV screens in the background. Eventually, the picture went viral and left everyone in shock. Yuvraj was caught watching Jana Nayagan illegally inside the CCTV control room at Anna University, a vote-counting centre in Chennai. For the unversed, after the completion of polling for Assembly elections, the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) from various areas were stored in three strong rooms across Chennai, including one at the university, under tight security surveillance.
After learning about T Yuvraj’s actions, an IT official at the Greater Chennai Corporation filed a police complaint. Now, the cops are probing how he accessed the film. During the investigation, the cops found that he had watched the film before the EVMs were moved into the room on April 23. TVK leader and actor
Vijay has not yet reacted to the whole drama which happened at the vote-counting centre.
