Speaking to Vogue Arabia, Priyanka Chopra Jonas was asked about how she maintains balance at home while raising her daughter Malti across cultures. As one of the most recognizable Indian figures on the world stage, she carefully points out that she represents more than just an 'Indian woman', highlighting the responsibilities that come with this identity and the importance of staying true to one's identity while navigating a multicultural family life. She said, “I’m not a diplomat, I’m an actor, but I try to do my best and use my platform to give a good representation of my culture. I love India, and I’m very, very Indian in my choice of food and so many other things. However, I need to have an understanding that our family is also partially American. While I try to keep my traditions alive in our day-to-day lives, we are in the United States."

PeeCee also added that it is actually very important for Nick Jonas and her that their daughter grows up in this multicultural way, adding she was more familiar with American culture, so it was easier and for Nick, it was more of an introduction and an education. "He loves India and respects it tremendously. He is part of my pujas and religious ceremonies. We celebrate with the same commitment and intention, be it Holi or Thanksgiving," she said. Meanwhile, Priyanka and Nick were married in a lavish celebration in December 2018 at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India.
