NewJeans (NJZ) is set to appeal against the court verdict that was announced in favour of ADOR. The case pertaining to the exclusive contract breach matter that the two sides have been fighting for since
last year, saw a closure at the Seoul Central District Court on October 30. Soon after the verdict came through, the K-pop group released an official statement pledging to appeal against the ruling.NewJeans responded to the court verdict through the statement stated by its legal counsel SHIN & KIM LLC on behalf of the members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. The five girls stated that they will immediately file for an appeal.

Today, the Seoul Central District Court shared their judgement in the lawsuit filed by ADOR, seeking confirmation of the validity of their exclusive contract with [NewJeans]. The court ruled that the exclusive contract is to remain valid.While the members respect the court’s decision, they maintain their stance that it is impossible to return to ADOR and continue regular entertainment activities with the company since the trust between the two parties has been completely broken. Court verdict in favour of ADOR
The statement came soon after the court ruled in favour of ADOR in the case filed to determine if trust collapse justifies contract termination. The legal dispute between the two sides began In November 2024 when NewJeans held an emergency press conference and announced terminating the exclusive contract with the company to pursue independent activities under a new band name, NJZ.
