Ranveer
Singh's Dhurandhar parts one and two have been box office hits. In fact, every character from both installments has found separate fan bases. One such character is Donga, played by Naveen Kaushik. The actor essayed this role in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar, which was theatrically released in December 2025. Although Donga was killed in the first part, the character remains etched in everyone's minds. Recently, when Zoom exclusively interacted with Naveen, the actor shared what people have still been speculating about his role. He even mentioned where Donga would have fit in Dhurandhar: The Revenge's storyline.
Naveen Kaushik on Dhurandhar's Donga
Speaking exclusively to us,
Naveen mentioned that Donga would have fit in best with the conflict that characters had among themselves. He further shared, "Many people have now started speculating and wishing on social media that, with all the different twists we had, what if Donga had turned out to be another spy from India? It is a fun thought that people have had."
That said, the
Dhurandhar actor believes, "Within the conflict the gang war had, that is where Donga would have fit in because his character was not someone who was central in orchestrating terrorism in India. At the climax of the movie, when Hamza goes to destroy Major Iqbal's madrasa, that is not where Donga would have fit in."
Naveen Kaushik on people calling Dhurandhar 2 'propaganda'
Continuing the conversation, Naveen shared his thoughts about
Dhurandhar 2 being labelled a 'propaganda' film. The actor feels that everyone has the right to their opinion and people can say anything about any film. Naveen stated that every film that people have seen in Bollywood or any cinema has a certain 'political ideology or political bent of mind.'
Talking about Dhurandhar specifically, the actor expressed, "Dhurandhar is an imagination and a creative visualisation of certain historic events which were real. To call it propaganda is to diminish the contributions of all the artists, crew and people who have contributed to making the film. Calling Dhurandhar one or two propaganda is to paint all those people who have made the film possible with the same paintbrush of saying that they are people who believe in that propaganda. That would be callous on anyone's part to say." And Naveen feels it is not a right thing to do.
