Tech giant Anthropic recently rolled out computer use for Claude Cowork and Claude Code. This feature enables the AI to perform tasks on your computer on its own, including the creation and testing of an app. However, it was initially limited to macOS. Now, the San Francisco-based company has introduced the computer use feature to Windows users. The official Claude account on X tweeted on Thursday, Computer use in Claude Cowork and Claude Code Desktop is now available on Windows.”How Does Claude Computer Use Work?Computer Use is a Claude feature that helps the artificial intelligence tool to perform autonomous tasks efficiently. This feature enables the AI to open different applications, run tests, navigate interfaces, spot bugs, and fix them
on its own without any human interference. Interestingly, Anthropic claims that the entire automated process can be executed using a single prompt. How To Use Claude Computer Use?Just like MacOS, computer use for Windows works in the research preview through Claude Cowork and Claude Code for Claude Max and Claude Pro subscribers. This feature needs no additional setup or special commands. Users can just download the Claude app, and the AI tool uses system resources to perform their assigned tasks. Moreover, Computer use an also pair up with the Dispatch feature, which will help you to connect with your smartphone to execute tasks from the handset. To run this, users are required to allow app access to Claude for every session for the securty reasons. Claude functions on a locked basis to ensure it works only for one session, controlling the computer at a time. Users control the device to abort any specific task using the terminal command if they feel the need to do so.
