Anthropic
has announced that it is offering access to its Mythos AI model to 15 countries. The update came on Tuesday and now India is among these nations to get its access. The Dario Amodei-led company will allow selected organisations globally to use the technology through its Project Glasswing initiative. Mythos AI has been making headlines since the day it was first introduced. The AI tools can identify hidden software flaws faster than humans, making it potentially dangerous for misuse by hackers to exploit financial systems. This is why Anthropic decided to keep the access of this model restricted to select companies.
India Joins Global Cybersecurity Network
India is one of the countries that has received access to
Anthropic's Mythos AI. These countries include Japan, South Korea, France, Germany, Australia, Canada and the Netherlands, as per Financial Times. The American tech giant said the programme will be expanded from an initial group of nearly 50 mostly US-based organisations to nearly 150 institutions worldwide. Moreover, the report notes that several major organisations like Okta, Samsung, SK Hynix, SK Telecom, Swift, Euroclear and Intercontinental Exchange, have gained access to this AI system. Notably, the programme has also been expanded to international organisations like NATO, and the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENSIA).This expansion comes at a time when governments and financial institutions are concerned about the cyber threats this
AI model could bring.
Last month, Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman chaired a meeting with Indian banking officials and the Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw along with key stakeholders to assess the impact of powerful AI models and how such technology can be misused to exploit critical software flaws. She had instructed the Indian Banks' Association to prepare a coordinated institutional mechanism to ensure effective responses to cyber threats. She also asked the banking officials to engage top cybersecurity professionals and specialised agencies to make the monitoring and defence systems better. India is among the leading countries that are prepared against the potential misuse of powerful
AI models. The rise of such powerful AI tools like Mythos and GPT-5.5 Cyber can often prompt larger conversations about ethics, control and long-term impact. While these tools can make software safer, they also have the potential to bring new risks that society may not be fully ready for.
