May 9, on the occasion of Vijay Deverakonda’s birthday, the makers of Rowdy Janardhana unveiled a new poster featuring him. Directed by Ravi Kiran Kola, who previously helmed Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru and Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, the film is set against a rural backdrop with a political storyline. Given that it is Vijay Deverakonda’s next film after Kingdom, this upcoming film is slowly building anticipation and this special poster has only added to the hype.

The visual shows Vijay Deverakonda drenched in the rain with his shirt open. A woman is seen placing her leg on his chest, hinting at a passionate romantic track. The gun in his hand, pointed downward, suggests that the protagonist chooses love over violence. The caption reads, “A man who fights the world but surrenders only to love,” hinting at an intense storyline.
Keerthy Suresh stars as the female lead in Rowdy Janardhana. While both actors previously appeared in Mahanati, they were not paired together, making this their first full on-screen collaboration.

The shooting is currently in full swing, and the makers have confirmed a theatrical release in the second half of 2026. According to producer Dil Raju, Vijay Deverakonda will speak in the East Godavari accent for the first time, adding authenticity to the character. His body language and dialogue delivery in the glimpse appear intense, introducing a new version of the actor.

The film was produced by Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy under Passion Studios and The Route.Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda was last seen in Kingdom, an action thriller written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. Co-produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, the film also starred Satyadev and Bhagyashri Borse. Planned as the first installment of a duology, the story follows a police officer who goes undercover on a mission that eventually leads him to his estranged brother, a smuggler. The film received mixed reviews upon release.
