The
next season of Daredevil: Born Again will have a very important reunion of the Defenders. Leaked photos from the set of Season 3 feature Mike Colter, aka Luke Cage, and Finn Jones, aka Danny Rand, alongside Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones. Ritter's character is already due to make an appearance in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 after its premiere on March 25, 2026, on JioHotstar. Charlie Cox, Ritter, Colter and Jones all starred together in Netflix's The Defenders, which only ran for one season in 2017. All four characters also had their individual series on Netflix but this reunion will be the first time they will be together on the Disney+ reboot.
Defenders reunion for Daredevil Born Again Season 3?
The Defenders gang is back together again! According to leaked set photos on social media, the Defenders are reuniting, as Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Cox) is getting backup from Luke Cage, Danny Rand (aka Iron Fist), and Jessica Jones. In the current season of
Daredevil: Born Again, Matt has gone undercover to fight Mayor Wilson Fisk and his illegal criminal activities in New York. It looks like in Season 3, the battle gets bigger as Daredevil recruits his superhero friends by his side.
This will be the first time the Defenders of Hell's Kitchen are back together on the same side since their Netflix series. There are several episodes of
Daredevil: Born Again remaining in Season 2. It remains to be seen how the story will open the door for the Defenders' return. It will likely begin with the
return of Jessica Jones. After the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, Jon Bernthal's The Punisher: One Last Kill is set to premiere in May 2026. The third season is expected to premiere in 2027.
Who are the Defenders?
Marvel had a number of TV series that were launched on Netflix revolving around the characters. These shows were more adult in nature and featured more graphic violence. Colter played Luke Cage in the self-titled series from 2016 to 2018. Cage is a former con man with superhuman strength and impenetrable skin who kept the streets clean from thugs. Jones starred in his own show,
Iron Fist, from 2017 to 2018. His character Danny has martial arts training and mystical powers.
Meanwhile, Jessica Jones is a former superhero turned private investigator. Her series ran from 2015 to 2018 on Netflix. Colter's Cage first made his appearance on there and the two even had an on-again, off-again relationship. Cage, Rand, Jones and Murdock all came together for an eight-episode miniseries,
The Defenders, in 2017. Marvel stopped making its TV series for Netflix and instead pivoted to its in-house streamer, Disney+.
