Sumeet Sachdev from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi? The actor is back as Gautam Virani aka Gomzi in season 2 of Ektaa Kapoor's show. The episode featuring Sumeet as Gautam aired on January 25 on Star Plus. He made a comeback as a lawyer in the daily soap, co-starring Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay. After he returned to KSBKBT 2, Zoom did an exclusive interview with Sumeet. In conversation with us, the actor spoke about doing Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. While discussing the same, the actor revealed he was called 'thrice' to return as Gautam. However, things didn't work out earlier. Read on to know why!

In a candid conversation with Zoom, Sumeet revealed how things worked out for his comeback to Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. "I can even reveal that this is the third time they called me. It's just that it didn't really work out the first two times, because of whatever reason or a reason of maybe no clarity of track as well. In fact, availability, right now, also was very difficult. I am very busy with Jhanak. But the track that was narrated to me sounded so nice," he said.

The actor further called his track 'brilliant' and gave full credit to Ektaa. He lauded the TV czarina for the way his scenes in KSBKBT 2 have been penned. "And I know it is Ektaa because I know her. If there is anybody else who can relate to the character Gomzi more than me is Ektaa. Because Ektaa is the one who has given birth to him, right?"Sumeet expressed that nobody else, except for him and Ektaa, can relate to Gautam aka Gomzi well. The actor also admitted, "But the way she has really brought the scenes out, and they have been written - I have just loved shooting them." Reflecting on the fact that his character is against Smriti Irani's Tulsi, he added that everything is 'justifiable'. "It all goes with the character. Everything just fits in so beautifully."

Sumeet Sachdev on reunion with Smriti Irani

Apart from dicussing his comeback and character arc, Sumeet spilled beans on his reunion with Smriti Irani aka Tulsi Virani. Calling it a 'beautiful' reunion, the actor revealed, "In fact, I was walking to the set, and I had crossed her vanity van. And when she got out and saw me walking, she's the one who shouted 'Sumeet'. And then we kind of hugged, and we met. She was reminiscing about us. We are both basically from the same school in a way, like brother-sister school in Delhi and the same batch. So we're talking about stuff like that. It's been beautiful and fun."

Continuing the conversation, the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 expressed that he is happy about the fact that the scenes are well written. He feels the scenes are justifiable.

Shedding light on current track with Smriti Irani in the show, the actor stated, "When you see the scenes, you cannot really say anybody is wrong here. So, both the characters from their own perspectives are probably correct with the way they're looking at things. Maybe there's a misunderstanding. But if there is somebody who is misunderstood, but believes in that misunderstanding from his perspective, you feel maybe from his perspective, if that's the way he thinks, he could be right. But I just think it is so wonderfully written, and executed also."
