Amid
chatter, controversy, and hype, Riteish Deshmukh's ambitious project Raja Shivaji finally arrived in theatres on May 1. The film, which focuses on the early life and strategic brilliance of the great Maratha warrior king, opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences. But it has managed to find its place at the box office. Despite competition from Ek Din and other releases, it has emerged as the biggest opener of the week. After a smashing double-digit score on its release day, the film had a strong first Saturday, even with a minor drop in footfall.

On its second day at the ticket windows, the film raked in Rs 10.55 crore (as per early estimates). While there was a slight dip in numbers, it still had a great day at the box office. Its total collection now stands at Rs 21.90 crore.Check out its box office report card here:
