favourite comfort show is back! The warm world of Ted Lasso is officially returning, and this time, it’s bringing a fresh twist! After more than three years since Season 3, which many believed would be the show’s final chapter, the Emmy-winning comedy is back with Season 4, with new energy, new characters and a brand-new direction. Leading the charge once again is Jason Sudeikis, who reprises his role as the ever-optimistic coach Ted Lasso while also serving as an executive producer on the series.

Season 4 is set to premiere on August 5 on Apple TV+, with new episodes dropping weekly until October 7. The long-awaited return marks a significant shift in the narrative, as Ted heads back to Richmond, but not to coach the familiar AFC Richmond men’s team. Instead, he takes on an entirely new challenge by coaching a second-division women’s soccer team, spotlighting women’s sports in a big way.
The newly released trailer shows short clips of Ted functioning in this unfamiliar territory with his charm and humour. The 1-minute trailer makes it clear the we will get a bucket full of both - comedic highs and emotional depth. Plot and cast of Ted Lasso Season 4
Fan-favourite cast members are also returning this season, including Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift. However, some familiar faces from earlier seasons, such as Nick Mohammed and Phil Dunster, have not been confirmed for this installment, leaving fans curious about how their characters’ arcs will be addressed. Joining the ensemble are several new cast members, including Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely, who are expected to play key roles in shaping the dynamics of the new team.
Behind the scenes, the creative team continues to expand, with Jack Burditt joining as an executive producer alongside Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee and Bill Wrubel.
