Ranveer
Singh is making headlines for his over-the-top performance in Aditya Dhar's direction Dhurandhar. Amid the praises by audience and critics alike, an old interview of the actor speaking on 8-hour work shift is now picking up trends once again, after his wife Deepika Padukone started a debate in the film industry. In the interview, Ranveer Singh was seen saying, "Aap karlo thodi si zyada shooting."
Ranveer Singh talks about 8-hour work shift
In 2022, during a conversation with
Bollywood Hungama, Ranveer Singh said, "A lot of times people complain…other artists and their management complain ki ‘Yaar tu sabko bigaad raha hai.’ Sab log bolte hain ‘8 ghanta ki shift mein tu 10-12 ghanta kabhi shooting karta hai. Fir hum log ko bhi karna padta hai.’ (A lot of times, people complain…other artists and their management say, ‘You’re messing things up for everyone.’ Everyone says, ‘You sometimes shoot 10–12 hours in an 8-hour shift, so we also have to do it’)."

Aap karlo thodi si zyada shooting. I’m not that kind of partner who sees it as a transaction. (But if what we want isn’t achieved in 8 hours, then it’s fine. You can do a little extra shooting)."
What made the controversy?
Earlier this year, Deepika Padukone spoke about 8 hours of working even in the film industry as it is 'enough for the human body and mind.' This statement came out after she entered motherhood for the first time last year. She had said, "We’ve normalised overworking. We mistake burnout for commitment. Eight hours of work a day is enough for the human body and mind. Only when you’re healthy can you give your best. Bringing a burnt-out person back into the system helps no one. In my own office, we work eight hours a day, Monday to Friday. We have maternity and paternity policies. We should normalise bringing children to work." Stay tuned for more updates!
