During a conversation with journalist Baradwaj Rangan, Tovino Thomas addressed ongoing rumours linking him to Toxic. He clarified that he is not part of the film and is not playing the antagonist. He added that while he generally avoids revealing details about films, in this case he is open about stating his non-involvement. Despite earlier speculation, he firmly denied any role in the film’s storyline.
In 2024, reports had suggested that Tovino Thomas would be facing off against Yash in Toxic. This created strong anticipation among fans, as it will would have marked Tovino's Kannada film debut. However, Tovino’s recent clarification puts those rumours to rest. His statement confirms that no such collaboration exists for the film, despite ongoing fan theories and online discussions.
Yash on Toxic’s Unique Vision
Talking about the film, Yash said in a recent interview that it has been shot in English as well for the first time in his career. He explained that the concept is highly layered and not a typical gangster action story. While it may appear as a conventional action film on the surface, it actually explores deep psychological themes and meaningful aspects of human life that audiences can relate to. He also said that the film presents a dark character in a unique way, making it stand apart from standard genre films.
Speaking about his collaboration with director Geetu Mohandas, Yash added that the experience was exciting and fulfilling. He praised her fresh approach to the gangster genre and the contribution of top technicians involved in the project. According to him, the film promises to be both a visual spectacle and an emotionally impactful experience that could leave a strong impression on the audience’s psychology. Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grownups is directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced under Yash’s Monster Mind Creations along with KVN Productions. The film features a major ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria. Originally slated for a March 19 release, the film’s worldwide premiere has now been postponed to June 4 due to global geopolitical tensions.Meanwhile, Tovino Thomas was recently seen in Pallichattambi, which released during the Vishu festive season on April 15, 2026. The film opened to a modest response at the box office, collecting Rs 8.20 crore worldwide on its first day.
