Darshan whose last film Kaatera, released nearly two years ago, is now geared up for his biggest film The Devil. Directed by Prakash Veer and produced by Shri Jaimatha Productions, Darshan’s The Devil which hits screens on 11 December is expected to dominate ninety percent of single screens in Karnataka making it the biggest opening for a film in Darshan’s career. Ahead of its release, Darshan's colleague and Kantara actor Rishab Shetty has shared his wishes for its success.

May the film set the screens on fire. #Devil"It has to be noted that the two actors were spotted together at actress and politician Sumalatha Ambareesh's grand birthday celebrations in 2023. While the two haven't worked on any film together, they share a warm camaraderie off-screen.Filmed in Bengaluru, Rajasthan, and Bangkok, The Devil features cinematography by Sudhakar S Raj and music by Ajaneesh Loknath. Rachana Rai joins the cast , which includes actors liks Tulasi, Achyuth Kumar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Srinivas Prabhu, and Shobhraj.
Darshan Thoogudeepa is currently in prison for his connection with the murder Renukaswamy. The victim was a fan of the actor, and was allegedly tortured and killed for allegedly harassing Pavithra Gowda, a close friend of Darshan. Meanwhile, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1, which released in October has grossed Rs 647 crore in India and over Rs 897 crore worldwide.
