Ramayana: Sadhguru Supports Ranbir Kapoor Against 'Unfair Judgement', Says 'Can't Expect Him To Become Lord Ram'

Ranbir Kapoor is stepping into the mythological space with Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana franchise. The title announcement and first glimpse introduced him as Lord Ram who faces Ravana to free his wife Sita
from his custody. Debates and discussions followed after Ranbir was confirmed to play the role in the modern adaptation of the Hindu epic. His past statements about his food preferences resurfaced, drawing severe criticism from a section of society. Sadhguru, the founder of Isha Foundation, came out in Kapoor’s support during a recent interaction.
Sadhguru defends Ranbir Kapoor
During an interaction with Namit Malhotra, Sadhguru reacted to Ranbir facing trolls and criticism for playing the role of Lord Ram in the franchise. When the Ramayana producer said, “People are pulling out things from the past and asking how Ranbir Kapoor could play Shri Rama in Ramayana." Sadhguru replied, "It's an unfair judgment of an actor because he acted in some way in the past. You can't expect him to become Ram. Tomorrow in another movie, he may act as Ravana." I had to transform myself to do justice to it because the audience can easily tell when you are faking it. I completely altered my routine. In fact, all of us did including Ranbir Kapoor. He has sacrificed so much for this film. This feels more like a yagya. We all did everything in our power to stay true to these characters in how we behave, react, and even speak.”
