The
new season of The Celebrity Traitors in the UK is currently in production. However, one A-list star could not be part of the show. Reports reveal that Loki actor Tom Hiddleston was all set to join the show. However, he had to pull out of the competition at the last minute because of a film shoot schedule. As Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday is back for reshoots, fans wonder if this was the sudden conflict. Previously, Hiddleston had confessed to being a big fan of The Traitors and had called it the best television he'd seen.
Tom Hiddleston drops out of The Celebrity Traitors
According to reports in
The Daily Mail and
The Sun, Hiddleston was a last-minute dropout on
The Celebrity Traitors. The 45-year-old actor is said to be "gutted" to miss the celebrity version because of an unavoidable schedule clash with a film project. For Season 2 of
The Celebrity Traitors, British stars such as Michael Sheen, Love Island presenter Maya Jama, Richard E Grant, Jerry Hall, and Bella Ramsey have been roped in. Filming has already begun in the Scottish Highlands.
In an interview with
Radio Times in January 2026, Hiddleston had expressed his love for
The Traitors, naming it one of the best TV shows. He had expressed interest in the celebrity version and said, "I loved the celebrity one." Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the celebrities compete for a cash prize of £100,000 for charity on the BBC One game show coming out later this year.
While Hiddleston has the TV shows
The Night Manager,
The White Darkness and
Spadehead lined up for next year and beyond, he has already completed filming for his upcoming features
Avengers: Doomsday and Apple TV's Tenzing. However, reshoots for
Doomsday are currently underway and reports suggest that the actor could be back as mischievous god Loki. The Marvel film releases in theatres on December 18, 2026.
