Beats Powerbeats Fit Review: Powerful, But Is It Worth Rs 24,900?
Times Now
Apple-owned audio brand Beats has launched the all-new Powerbeats Fit in India. Priced at Rs 24,900, these earbuds are built for people who hit the gym, go for runs or simply don’t want their earbuds falling
out in the middle of a workout. They arrive just months after the Powerbeats Pro 2, which came with the signature earhook design. The Powerbeats Fit are available in four colours -- Jet Black, Gravel Grey, Spark Orange, and Power Pink -- and come with Apple’s H1 chip for fast pairing and stable connection across Apple devices.I have been using the Gravel Grey variant for over two weeks now. They are lightweight, comfortable and definitely look sporty but at Rs 24,900, the big question is, Do they really justify the price? Especially when the AirPods Pro 2 and even the AirPods Pro 3 sit in the same range. Let’s find out.
Design And Comfort
The first thing you notice about the Powerbeats Fit is the all-new wingtip design. Unlike the big earhooks on the Powerbeats Pro 2, these new wingtips sit inside your ear for a cleaner look. They feel light and secure but I still think the Pro 2’s earhook design gives a better hold especially during heavy workouts. The wingtips are comfortable but not as tight or locked-in as the Pro 2.
Having said that, the Powerbeats Fit feel light, flexible and stay comfortable even after long listening sessions. In terms of build quality, Beats has done an excellent job this time. The earbuds feel sturdy, look premium and carry that sporty design language that Apple usually nails with its Beats lineup. Also, the charging case is smaller when compared with Pro 2 and supports wired USB-C but misses out on wireless charging. There’s an LED indicator up front to show charging status, which is a handy touch. Both the case and earbuds come with an IPX4 rating, so they are protected from sweat and light rain.
Connectivity And Pairing
Beats is part of Apple’s ecosystem so pairing with an iPhone is effortless. The Powerbeats Fit runs on Apple’s H1 chip so it connects instantly with your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch. All you need to do is just open the case near your device and you are done. I tried pairing them with the iPhone 17 Pro and MacBook Air M4 and the process was super smooth every time. You also get all the iOS perks like Hey Siri, Find My and Personalised Spatial Audio. Once paired with one Apple device, the earbuds automatically sync with all other devices linked to your iCloud account.
Android users aren’t left behind either. Using the Beats app on Android, you still get features like one-touch pairing, battery status and more. During my test with a Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, the connection was stable and the experience was smooth. That said, the overall experience is still slightly better on iOS. Pairing feels faster and the integration with Siri and other Apple devices is more seamless.
Features And Performance
When it comes to features, the Powerbeats Fit packs almost everything you expect from a premium pair of earbuds. You get Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Transparency Mode and Adaptive EQ. There’s also Personalised Spatial Audio with head tracking which makes movies and games feel more immersive. Each earbud has a physical button for music and calls -- a nice change from touch controls that often misfire during workouts. You can single-tap to play or pause, double-tap to skip forward, triple-tap to go back and long-press to switch between ANC and Transparency Mode. The buttons are easy to press and work well even with sweaty hands.
Now, let’s talk about sound. The Powerbeats Fit delivers powerful and dynamic audio with strong bass/ The audio feels solid while watching movies on Netflix, listening to music and playing games.Compared to the Powerbeats Pro 2, these are not as loud or bass-heavy. The Pro 2 still offers a more balanced sound quality. The ANC performance is good as it cuts out low-frequency noise effectively.
It is not as strong as the Pro 2 but for daily use, it does the job well. The Transparency Mode does a good job of keeping you aware of your surroundings when you are out for a run or walk. For calls, the earbuds handle background noise quite well. I tried them in public places, the office and even at the airport. Voices came through clear and the mics picked up speech nicely even with mild wind or traffic around.
Battery Life
Battery life on the Powerbeats Fit is excellent. You get up to seven hours of playback on a single charge and the charging case adds around 30 hours of total listening time. With ANC turned on, the earbuds last about 6 hours, while the case gives around 24 hours in total.
During my review, I only had to charge the case twice in over two weeks of use which is impressive for fitness-focused earbuds. Coming to the downside, the case comes with USB-C charging but unfortunately, there is no wireless charging support which feels like a miss at this price.
Verdict
The Powerbeats Fit are a solid pair of earbuds made for fitness lovers. They look good, fit well and sound powerful. The design makes them great for workouts and the battery life is among the best in this category. However, at Rs 24,900, they face tough competition. The AirPods Pro 2 and Pro 3 offer better ANC, wireless charging and a more balanced sound. They are best good for people who work out often and want a stable and sporty fit. If you are mostly after pure sound quality or extra smart features, you might get better value elsewhere. But if you live in the gym or go for long runs, these buds are really good.
