Farhan Akhtar rejected Ranveer Singh's peace offering worth Rs 35 crore
According to reports in
Bollywood Hungama, a crucial industry meeting was held in the first week of March in the presence of several major Bollywood personalities, including Aamir Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala, Karan Johar,
Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. During this meeting, Ranveer Singh’s team reportedly presented an offer to resolve the ongoing dispute with Excel Entertainment.
As per sources, Ranveer’s camp proposed an upfront payment of Rs 10 crore to the banner. Alongside this, they allegedly offered an additional Rs 25 crore adjustment in the form of a discount on a future film collaboration with the actor outside
Don 3. The move was intended to compensate Excel immediately as well as try to build a working relationship for the future. However, the offer did not impress Excel Entertainment. The report claims that Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani rejected the proposal because they no longer wished to collaborate with Ranveer Singh professionally. Sources close to the matter stated that the makers felt the delays, uncertainty and eventual fallout surrounding
Don 3 had already caused significant financial and professional setbacks for the production house. Instead, Excel Entertainment wanted direct financial compensation instead of future collaboration-based arrangements.
Ranveer Singh's perspective on the Don 3 controversy
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh’s side was upset over Excel allegedly considering alternative casting options during what they perceived as a difficult phase in Ranveer’s career. Reports also claimed that the film was discussed with Hrithik Roshan, something that reportedly did not sit well with the actor. Ranveer had concerns regarding the script and whether
Don 3 was the right project to follow the success of
Dhurandhar. The actor allegedly felt that the film lacked the complete commitment and clarity required for a franchise of such scale, considering Farhan focussing on multiple projects simultaneously.
Despite the disagreements, Ranveer did not want Excel Entertainment to suffer losses, which is why the compensation offer was made in the first place. However, with both sides unwilling to compromise on their respective stands, the matter eventually escalated. The controversy gained even more attention after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh on May 25, 2026, after he allegedly exited
Don 3 just days before filming was scheduled to begin. Following widespread speculation online, FWICE chief advisor Ashoke Pandit clarified that the organisation had not banned the actor, but had merely issued a non-cooperation notice, requesting its members across 30 crafts not to work with Ranveer Singh until the dispute is resolved.
