Bachchan is currently in the middle of shooting for Siddharth Anand’s King, starring Shah Rukh Khan. The Bollywood star stopped by day two of the ET NOW Global Business Summit 2026 where he talked about his new Hindi film and other notable topics of business and Bollywood. Last year, Abhishek Bachchan appeared in the Amazon Prime Video family drama Be Happy, the comedy Housefull 5, and the Hindi remake Kaalidhar Laapata. Here’s what the Dasvi actor had to share about King and his new look for the Hindi action film, said to be inspired from Luc Besson’s The Professional.
Abhishek Bachchan on King
During his session at the ET NOW Global Business Summit 2026, Abhishek joked that he was flattered that everyone noticed that he had changed his look. He shared, “Yes, I'm currently shooting for my new film which is called King. There are contracts in place, NDAs, you get that. Until the new deal is signed, sealed, and delivered and implemented, you can't really talk about it. Similar in films.”
Written by Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh,
King also features a large ensemble cast besides the father-daughter duo of Shah Rukh and Suhana. Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhay Verma, Raghav Juyal, and Karanvir Malhotra are all involved in the upcoming film releasing on December 24, 2026. Besides King, Abhishek will also be seen in the Hindi-Marathi bilingual
Raja Shivaji directed by Riteish Deshmukh. While Riteish is playing Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Abhishek's role has not been disclosed yet.
Abhishek Bachchan on his inspirations in life
The actor was also asked about his real-life inspirations at the panel and he looked no further than home, naming his father, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and his teenage daughter Aradhya Bachchan. Abhishek stated, “I get inspired by my father and daughter. If you have Mr. Amitabh Bachchan in the room above you, that's a big inspiration. I envy the new generation. There's a lot we can learn from them.”
Abhishek also spoke about the importance of being authentic in life and in your work. He felt there is so much white noise as things aren't really being curated in that sense. Your story should differentiate you as the authenticity of storytelling goes a long way.
