Ahead of their extensive ARIRANG World Tour, BTS might be busy locking their set list that's expected to include their biggest hits, nostalgia-inducing tracks and new music. Even though the songs they'll burn the stage with remain a surprise, their ARMY is sure it won't include two singles from their body of work: Home and Love Maze. As Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook gear up to make a comeback as a full group following close to 4-year military hiatus, the stakes are running very high. The K-pop legends are already breaking records at every step, be it surpassing 4 million pre-orders with its new yet-to-release fifth album ARIRANG in just one week, or their sold-out shows in 41 centres of North America, Europe and UK. This is going
to be the biggest comeback music fraternity has seen worldwide, and fans are counting days to March 20, 2026.But what about the two tracks Home and Love Maze that might never be performed again by BTS? Why is the fandom sure it won't be part of the group's comeback celebration either? The reason is solid.
BTS songs that will not be performed again
The tracks titled
Home and
Love Maze now have a history, and it dates back to May 2020 when composer Bobby Jung aka Jung Dae-Wook was accused of illegally filming and s*xually assaulting a 20-year-old aspiring singer whom he was dating. Even though it pushed the victim to take her life, Bobby, belonging to indie band Autumn Vacation, pleaded "not guilty" during the trial, leading to the case being dismissed.Later in February 2021, another similar case was filed against Jung by a woman, and this time, the prosecution merged the two cases and indicted Jung without detention under the Sexual Violence Crime Penalty Act. Jung was in 2022 sentenced to jail for a year over charges of illegally filming a nude woman without her consent. He even faced a five-year ban from working at any facilities that served children, young, or disabled people, along with 40 hours of sexual violence education.
What's the connection between BTS and Jung Dae-Wook's case?
The case surfaced around the same time as the release of BTS – PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE in THE US DVD. Jung's verdict led to HYBE censoring several songs of BTS, including
Love Myself, HOME, Filter, Love Maze, I’m Fine, Dream Glow, and
134340.
Home and
Love Maze were specifically removed from the DVD even though they had already performed by then. And the reason was that Jung had worked on all these songs.Bobby Jung has worked extensively with HYBE groups BTS and TOMORROW x TOGETHER (TXT). His other songs with BTS include
Way Home, Roller Coaster, 20 cm, among others.
What is ARIRANG about?
Meanwhile, BTS' new album
Arirang will include 14 tracks. BTS' fifth album, and the first project as a full group ever since its seven members completed their mandatory military term. It holds a special place considering it marks the band's first offering which is releasing after three years and nine months and sets out the direction OT7 will take moving forward. The members have stated before that each one has been deeply involved throughout the songwriting and production process, infusing their own thoughts and identities while expressing the emotions and reflections they experienced along their journey.BTS had on the New Year's Day given fans the gift of revealing the date of their comeback, on March 20, 2026. The group's world tour kicks off on April 9, 2026 from Goyang, South Korea.
