Amidst
the chaos and ongoing legal dispute between Elon Musk and OpenAI, the CEO, Sam Altman, has confirmed that he does not mind if the Tesla CEO comes to his company’s GPT-5.5 private event. Replying to a post on X that joked about the world’s richest man ‘crashing’ OpenAI’s private event, Altman stated that he will be welcome at the invite-only gathering.
Here’s What Sam Altman Said
The OpenAI CEO replied to a post on X by the user named Andrew Curran, who tweeted, “Elon’s going to show up uninvited to his GPT-5.5 party like the witch in ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and deliver a powerful curse.” Altman responded, “He can come if he wants, the world needs more love.”This exchange has gained wide attention on social media, as these comments have arrived at a time when Musk and Altman are involved in an ongoing legal dispute, where the xAI chief alleged that
OpenAI is betraying its founding nonprofit mission and turned into a ‘profit-driven venture’ after Microsoft invested heavily in the AI company.
All About GPT-5.5 Party
Last week,
Altman revealed that OpenAI is hosting a GPT-5.5 party on May 5 at 5:55 PM PDT, where a handful of lucky users will be invited to attend the event. He took to X to announce the event, which received a range of reactions from the netizens. The event invite reads, “5/5 feels like the right day to celebrate GPT-5.5. We’re bringing together a group of builders in San Francisco for a low-key meetup with Sam and the team behind GPT-5.5. Enjoy food, drinks, and connecting with the community - plus some fun giveaways and swag. Please note this is an invite-only event. We hope to see you there!”
This event will be held at the headquarters of OpenAI in San Francisco. However, the catch remains that this event is mainly invite-only. Interested users could register through the link shared by Altman, and Codex was helping the firm to shortlist attendees based on their registrations.
