Now the company is likely to go through a major restructuring, Musk hinted the startup will no longer exist as an independent company. The update followed after the Tesla CEO replied to a post discussing SpaceX’s compute partnership with Anthropic. In the discussion, an X user mentioned ‘
SpaceX/xAI,’ prompting the billionaire to clarify the structure going forward.Musk said that xAI would be dissolved as a separate company and its AI efforts may become part of SpaceX’s broader technology ecosystem. He tweeted, “xAI will be dissolved as a separate company, so it will just be SpaceXAI, the AI products from SpaceX.”
It is noteworthy that at the time of writing, there is no official reference to ‘SpaceXAI’ on SpaceX’s website, suggesting the restructuring or branding may still be evolving.
