Rajpal Yadav cheque bounce case takes new turn after counsel's statement
In a video posted by news agency ANI on their official X handle (formerly Twitter), the complainant M/s Murli Projects Private Limited's counsel, Avnit Singh Sikka, shared that the matter came up for final arguments today and both sides completed their submissions. According to him, the court appeared convinced by the arguments presented. He shared that Rajpal Yadav joined the hearing virtually. The court gave him one last chance to settle the matter, making it clear that this was an opportunity to bring the case to a close. During the proceedings, the actor initially agreed to resolve the issue on terms decided by the court.
Sikka said both parties eventually agreed on a settlement amount, and even the opposing counsel accepted the figure. However, when the judge asked how the payment would be made, Rajpal Yadav changed his stance. He said he was willing to go to jail instead. He also claimed that he had already paid the money earlier and mentioned that he had previously served time in jail. Sikka further added that there are 21 cases pending against the actor. The court is now expected to deliver its verdict on all of them, deciding whether his sentence should continue or be set aside.
