Kiran Kumar, more popularly known as KK has tragically passed away. The film maker is well-known for helming Nagarjuna's Kedi which is regarded as a film ahead of its times. The tragedy occurred just a few

days after the shooting of his latest film King Jackie Queen (KJQ) was completed, leaving the film industry in shock. His death was officially announced by the film's team. As per reports, he had been unwell for the past few days, and his condition worsened, leading to his untimely demise.

KJQ: King Jackie Queen has completed its shoot and is currently in the post-production stage. The Paradise director also heaped praise on KK's style of filmmaking, sharing the KJQ's teaser he wrote "Personally I am a big fan of KEDI movie. I still remember watching it in theatres and feeling it was way ahead of its time. After a long gap, This time Kiran sir is coming up with a banger film. #KJQ will be a one of its kind film. About Kiran Kumar's Telugu Films

Apart from directing films, he had written dialogues for the Telugu dubbed versions of Sachin: A Billion Dreams, and for Mani Ratnam's films OK Bangaram (O Kadhal Kanmani), Cheliyaa (Kaatru Veliyidai), and Nawab (Chekka Chivantha Vaanam). He also worked on Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan films, as an assistant director. Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga who rose to prominence with Arjun Reddy and Animal had earlier worked with KK as an assistant director. KJQ: King Jackie Queen also stars Dasara and The Girlfriend actor Dheekshith Shetty, Shashi Odela and Yukti Tareja in lead roles.

Kiran Kumar hailed from Ananthapur in Andhra Pradesh and had completed his BTech before venturing into cinema. Prior to making his directorial debut, he worked as an assistant director to N Shankar and K Prakash, son of director K Raghavendra Rao, on the film Bellyful of Dreams.
