of the Dragon is returning for its eagerly awaited third season on June 21 internationally. In India, the new season will premiere on June 22 on JioHotstar. However, some lucky fans will get to watch the show a bit earlier when it opens the 72nd edition of the Taormina Film Festival in Italy on June 10. A few actors of the Game of Thrones spinoff, including Steve Toussaint, are going to attend the grand opening in Italy. House of the Dragon 3 to open Italy’s Taormina Film Festival
According to a report in
Variety, the first episode of
House of the Dragon Season 3 will open the Italian film festival in Sicily. Taormina Film Festival takes place from June 10 to 14. Actor Steve Toussaint, who plays Lord Corlys Velaryon; Harry Collett, who plays Jacaerys Velaryon; Bethany Antonia, who plays Baela Targaryen; and Phoebe Campbell, who plays Rhaena Targaryen, are all expected to attend the launch. The episode will be screened at the festival's large open-air ancient Greek amphitheater which has the active Mount Etna volcano in its backdrop.
The HBO show's global premiere is set to take place in London on June 8; the show is primarily filmed in the UK. The festival is held in the same sea resort where
The White Lotus Season 2 was shot. This year, Russell Crowe is set to visit the festival and attend the world premiere of his next thriller
Bear Country.
Filmmaker Jane Campion, actress Holly Hunter, costume designer Miyako Bellizzi, casting director Francine Maisler, director Akinola Davies Jr., Amazon MGM Studios’ head of global marketing Sue Kroll, and Italian filmmaker Pietro Castellitto are part of the jury. Helen Mirren will be receiving a lifetime achievement award at this year's edition.

Game of Thrones. Starring Matt Smith, Emma D'Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans and Fabien Frankel, the series delves into the Targaryen civil war in Westeros. This season, the infamous Battle of the Gullet will be brought to the small screen and will feature tragic deaths within both sides of the Targaryen royal family. The HBO series has already been renewed for a fourth season.
