Amazon Brings AI Video Recaps On Prime Video But There's A Catch

Most of us know and watch web series, and the most common problem we face is a good quality recap. Majority of the time, either the user reads it somewhere or watches a YouTube video on the recap. But now, Amazon is coming up with a solution for the same to skyrocket the viewing experience on Prime Video. So, the company is releasing a new AI-backed video recaps feature on Prime Video, which works on machine learning to identify the important aspects of a story and then produce a theatrical video of the recap. Amazon says that the Video Recaps feature is more of an AI system that can automatically generate short, 'theatrical style' summaries of an entire season. Following the same, the AI Video Recaps will be able to pull together visuals, music, narration, and snippets of dialogue. Amazon is looking to make it easy for users who watch a new episode of their favourite show but want a little recap of the previous one.

Amazon Prime Video Recaps Details

According to Amazon, the tech behind these recaps focuses on a season's important beats, character developments, turning points, and more. After figuring out the main ones, the system clubs everything together with a voice-over narration, snippets of dialogue, and background score to create a polished highlight reel. Now, coming to the most important part of it, availability, the feature is currently in the beta stage and is available to the users in the United States for English-language Prime Original series. That being said, the broader availability of the same is expected in the coming weeks. And yes, there is no word on the launch of the feature for Indian until now. Speculations are that if the test run is successful, then we will soon get to see the feature in India as well.
