Siddhant Bhatia’s musical ode to India’s grandest spiritual gathering has reached the world stage. The singer-composer-producer has earned a prestigious Grammy nomination for Sounds of Kumbha, a project rooted in faith, community, and cosmic rhythm. Representing the spirit of millions who throng the Mahakumbha, his album now stands alongside other Indian nominations, Anoushka Shankar and Shankar Mahadevan's Shakti. For Bhatia, the honour is not just personal, it’s a celebration of India’s cultural heartbeat.Talking about the album, he exclusively told Zoom, "The Mahakumbha is the world’s largest celebration of humanity, faith, and collective energy. I wanted the album to carry that joy, colour, and sense of divine movement. The philosophy behind
the project has always been togetherness and oneness. When millions gather with the same intention, you feel the truth of being one family. And after all the sound and celebration, the final message is silence. That silence is the heart of the Mahakumbha and that is what I wanted listeners to feel."
He added, "It feels like a collective victory. It is a win for more than five hundred million people who came to the Mahakumbha. It is a win for those who could not come but will now experience the energy of Indian spirituality through the album. It is a win for every artist and every musician. It is a win for the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh who enabled this vision. Most of all, it is a win for the spirit of India and its cultural heritage."Bhatia wants to continue creating work that brings the soul of India to the world. "I am exploring new visual GenAI ideas, branded content, collaborations with global artists and new immersive formats. Live musicians will always remain central to my sound. My intention is to keep creating art that blends tradition with innovation and carries Indian culture to more global platforms," he shared. The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 2, 2025.
