Saigal left everyone pleasantly surprised with his comeback on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. The actor returned as Ansh Gujral's son, Riyansh aka Rio, in Ektaa Kapoor's daily soap. In the first season, Akashdeep was seen as Smriti Irani, aka Tulsi's son, Ansh. And now, in KSBKBT 2, the actor essays the character of her grandson, Riyansh. In an exclusive interaction with us, Akashdeep reflected on the above-mentioned transition. The actor also spoke about Ektaa's decision to bring him back as Rio. Here's everything that he shared.

Talking about playing Tulsi's grandson in
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, the actor said, "It’s a masterclass in evolution. Playing the son was about rebellion; playing the grandson is about legacy. Professionally, it’s a brilliant shift. Spiritually, it’s a reminder that while the name on the door changes, the soul of the performance stays the same."
The actor added that he is bringing the weight of Ansh Gujral into the skin of Rio, and called it 'full-circle' moment with a much higher stake. Akashdeep was further asked about his first reaction to Ektaa offering him Rio's role. "When Ekta calls, it’s not a pitch; it’s a shared vision. We’ve created history together, and we both knew that for the return of this legacy, it needed a specific kind of power. Bringing me in for Riyansh wasn't just casting, it was a strategic move to bring back that X-factor," he mentioned. The KSBKBT 2 actor stated that he is here to honor the past and own the future.

Akashdeep opened up about reuniting with Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan and Amar Upadhyay. He called it a 'reunion of the elite'. The actor shared that Hiten, Gauri, Amar and him are 'architects' of KSBKBT 2's genre."Meeting them again was a moment of mutual respect. We’ve all evolved, we’ve all seen the highs of this industry, and coming back together feels like a powerhouse summit. We’re not just co-stars; we’re a legacy ensemble making sure this second innings is even more legendary," he said and signed off.
