D54, directed by Vignesh Raja, who is known for 2023's mystery thriller Por Thozhil has been creating buzz ever since it was announced. Now, the yet-to-be-titled film's producer, Vels Film International, took to X on Wednesday to request netizens to refrain from sharing set footages from the film's shoot.

Taking to social media, Vels Films International posted, "We request our "D"ear fans to support us by not sharing any footage from the sets of #D54. Your cooperation means everything!" Ishari Ganesh is producing the film under the banner.Earlier in October, the makers revealed that production on the film has been completed and that they plan to release it in February next year. The film, tentatively titled D54, features Alfred Prakash as the co-writer. The makers officially shared details about the project earlier this year, following plenty of speculation about Dhanush and Vignesh Raja's first collaboration. At the time, they dropped a poster featuring Dhanush's character in a field on fire, captioning it, "Sometimes staying dangerous is the only way to stay alive."

Later, for Dhanush's birthday, a brand new picture of the actor from the film was unveiled where he was seen standing inside a phone booth trying to make a call. This hinted that the film is set in a period era.

The film also stars Mamitha Baiju, Jayaram and Suraj Venjaramoodu. It also features Karunas, KS Ravikumar, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Kushmitha, and Nitin Sathyaa, among others. On the technical front, it has composer GV Prakash, cinematographer Theni Eswar, and editor Sreejith Sarang. Vignesh Raja made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed film Por Thozhil, starring actors Sarathkumar and Ashok Selvan in the lead roles.
